My Favorite Vegan-Friendly Restaurants in Siem Reap
The locals told me that Siem Reap is increasingly becoming a “foodie” spot for its vibrant cuisine. In three days I couldn’t try everything but there were a few spots I would recommend to travelling vegans.
I had to do my research ahead of time. Although there are a lot of vegan options available in Siem Reap, the first day I stumbled into a restaurant and the only vegan option was a small veggie spring rolls starter. If you dig a little deeper and explore the world of veg-friendly cuisine in Siem Reap your only problem will be deciding which one to choose! Don’t miss out on these spots.
1. Banlle Vegetarian Restaurant
Banlle Vegetarian Restaurant looks like a secret garden oasis. The inside of the restaurant is trendy, with floor to ceiling windows that display the real treasure — the garden. The remaining tables are found outside under the shade of several trees alongside a stunning flower-filled pond.

The food is organic, local, creative vegetarian cuisine with a homegrown veggie patch that actually surrounds the grounds (talk about fresh). The menu features traditional Khmer food and delicious coffee. You can enjoy an iced coconut cappuccino under a few sleepy trees.

What to Order
- Soba pad thai ($4.00)
- Vegetable curry ($3.50)
- Mushroom wonton soup ($3.50)
- Coconut cappuccino

3. Chamkar Vegetarian Restaurant
I was wandering around and hungry for dinner when I stumbled through a lively alley with a vegetarian restaurant. This menu was 90% vegan and SO delicious! The restaurant is easy to walk by but you should definitely stop and check it out.

There’s also a Chamkar House Vegetarian Restaurant with raving reviews. I didn’t frequent this spot but I can imagine it was just as delicious with a slightly more upscale vibe.
What to Order
- Cambodian curry ($5.00)

4. Lily’s Secret Garden Restaurant
A secret garden? This was my kind of place. It wasn’t as much of a secret garden as Banlle, however, it was a quaint and charming place with delicious Khmer cuisine. The Tuk Tuk driver had a difficult time finding this spot, so I used my pre-saved offline map on MAPS.ME to direct us there.

You can book cooking classes here and learn how to make traditional Khmer cuisine. The staff were incredibly friendly and the menu is extremely affordable. I made the mistake of ordering two meals, Vegan Noodle Soup ($3) and the Vegan Pad Thai ($2.50). Sadly I couldn’t finish my meal and would suggest eating one at a time to avoid waste.

What to Order
- Fresh (or fried) spring rolls ($1.75)
- Noodle soup with glass noodles ($3)
- Vegan Lok Lak ($3)

Eat. Drink. And Enjoy.
My mouth is watering. The food in Siem Reap Cambodia is truly delicious. I always recommend trying the traditional cuisine and opting for something new over your everyday lentil burger. Taste Cambodia in this charming city and enjoy your trip.
